“We have specialised entirely in drumming” – the Schlagzeugschule Aachen at Zeppelinstraße 5 is run by Björn Just, who studied at the Conservatorium Maastricht; according to the website, eight trained drummers teach more than 160 students a week. “The Schlagzeugschule Aachen is a free music school certified under strict criteria by the BDFM (Federation of Free Music Schools).”
Drum kit is taught in weekly one-to-one lessons in two air-conditioned rooms with four acoustic drum kits, online on request and, according to the website, in six languages; there are also annual student recitals, workshops with guest drummers, help with buying instruments and help finding rehearsal rooms and bands. “You can also book several trial lessons with different teachers.”
Lessons seven days a week: Monday 9 am–10 pm, Tuesday to Friday 1–10 pm, weekends 10 am–10 pm; trial lesson by arrangement on +49 241 9976885 or post@schlagzeugschule-aachen.de.
