Think beforehand about what matters to you: a quiet spot to read, a table for a larger group or a quick coffee to take away. Coffee specialities, cakes and breakfast differ from café to café, so it is worth looking at each page. In fine weather outdoor seats are in demand, while in autumn and winter hot chocolate, tea and a slice of cake suit the season well. As Hamburg is big, allow for routes and travel times if you want to visit several addresses.
