Der FC Marl ist ein traditionsreicher Fußballverein, der 1912 gegründet wurde und seit jeher eine wichtige Rolle im Sportleben der Stadt Marl spielt. Der Verein ist bekannt für seine hervorragende Jugendarbeit und hat schon viele talentierte Spieler hervorgebracht, die später den Sprung in den Profifußball geschafft haben.
Der FC Marl bietet Fußball auf hohem Niveau für alle Altersklassen. Neben der Ersten Mannschaft, die in der Oberliga Westfalen spielt, gibt es zahlreiche Jugend- und Amateurteams. Besonders stolz ist der Verein auf seine Frauenmannschaft, die in der Regionalliga Nordrhein-Westfalen antritt und regelmäßig um den Aufstieg in die 2. Bundesliga mitspielt.
Das Stadion des FC Marl befindet sich direkt im Herzen der Stadt, nur wenige Gehminuten vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt. Es bietet Platz für rund 8.000 Zuschauer und ist mit modernen Infrastruktur-Einrichtungen ausgestattet. An Spieltagen herrscht hier eine einzigartige Atmosphäre, die Fans und Besucher gleichermaßen begeistert.
