Das Stadtarchiv Marl ist eine wichtige Einrichtung zur Bewahrung und Erforschung der Geschichte der Stadt Marl. Es wurde 1975 gegründet und verfügt über einen umfangreichen Bestand an historischen Dokumenten, Fotos und anderen Materialien, die die Entwicklung der Stadt vom Bergbauzentrum zur modernen Industriestadt dokumentieren.
Neben der Archivarbeit bietet das Stadtarchiv auch Führungen, Ausstellungen und Veranstaltungen an, um die Marler Stadtgeschichte einem breiten Publikum näherzubringen. Besonders interessant sind die Sammlungen zur Industriegeschichte, zur Entwicklung des Stadtbildes sowie zur Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte.
Das Stadtarchiv befindet sich im Rathaus-Komplex und ist gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen. Es steht Besuchern zu den regulären Öffnungszeiten zur Verfügung und bietet auch Möglichkeiten für individuelle Recherchen.
